BAGGAGE ALLOWANCE  (Read Carefully) 

Checked  Baggage Washington DC Delta /KLM to Tanzania: 2 check in bags each with a 50 pound limit per bag.  Verify all labeling of bags to IAD – Dar Es Salaam, Tanzania. Put your bag receipt with your passport and ticket. Delta charges $100 for overweight bags 51-70 pounds and $200 for an additional checked bag. No bags are allowed over 70 pounds. Note: Put all liquids over 3 ounces in your checked bags. 

In Country Flight-Checked Baggage Air Tanzania: 1 Check in bag with 50 pound limit.  If you have 2 checked bags you willhave to pay for the second one. Visit their website for full clarity on Air Tanzania baggage policy. www.airtanzania.co.tz/baggage 

Carry-on Baggage: You may carry on one bag and one personal item at no charge. Please note that all items must easily fit into the overhead bin or under the seat in front of you. 

When packing luggage remember that less is better. You will want to purchase clothing and artifacts to bring back. 

Bring white clothing to pay homage to our ancestors at Mama C's  and a  Red, Black, Green  combination for Ancestor day on Changuu Island


 Bring any school supplies you care to donate to the children of  (TGM )Taznaznia Great Minds Children Center this includes black dolls, books, paper, pencils, , clothing etc. the children are aged 3-4.  We are also collecting  jean jackects and dresses for the Dada's (sisters)  that take care of the chldren at the  school,



SOCIALIZING


No photos should be taken of the people of Tanzania without permission. Camouflage clothing in Tanzania is strictly reserved for the Tanzania People's Defence Force. Only the army in Tanzania are allowed to wear camouflage.  Tanzania criminalize same-sex sexual activity .  In Zanzibar wear loose fitting, non-transparent clothing.  Dresses, skirts and shorts should reach down to represent modesty and covering of the  shoulders and upper arms.  

Please focus on enjoying yourself on this holistic journey.  Do not get distracted by others or get caught up in complaining. . We recommend you go with the flow and enjoy your time in paradise around the wonderful itinerary that we have put together on this Journey of a Lifetime.

Bring as much cash as you think you will need. (Aprrox. $400-$800). Bring a Visa card to access the ATMs. Master Cards are not recommended because of the lack of ATMs that take them. Note: Make sure you call your bank and let them make a note that you will be using your bank card to access international currency.'
